As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that smaller places interest me more. Long ago I was reading a book which was about smaller towns in America. The book listed the interesting small towns also. Unfortunately, I forgot the title of the book :( but I remember Dunsmuir was listed among them. Dunsmuir town has two beautiful waterfalls which are easily accessible. Hedge Creek Falls and Mossabre Falls.
Mossabre Falls is one of its kind. The water seeps through the bushes and grass. But, reaching this falls is a bit tricky. Not that you will have to trek 10 miles one way but you will have to hike 1 mile on an active railway track. Make sure you are not in a narrow place when the train passes :) Once reached no one regrets all the pain walking on the tracks. Cool and secluded, dreamy and peaceful ... but on weekends expect crowds of swimmers.
I sat there under the shade for a long time listening to the water. A Blue Jay was moving around, may be for food. I have seen these birds in the campgrounds and picnic places looking for human food. A senior couple come by with their pet puppy. It was fun watching that puppy running around chasing this Blue Steller's Jay.
Lovely huh?
And Happy Valentine's Day to All :)

Thanks Stewart. What I like about your comments is that ... you really read the post and give more info. The bird was looking for food and so I left some empty space for it to look :)
DeleteWaterfalls are always beautiful - whether small or big doesn't matter. But most of them are in the remote places, and has restricted access. But the pleasure you get, after passing through the difficult path is infinite! This fall is gorgeous looking, especially with that width and thin layer of water falling.
