Have you seen this Ice-cream machine?!

ice cream machine in Vadodara fest

As I have mentioned many times ... I visit Gujarat frequently, just because my dear sister lives there nothing else :) And I have seen, experienced and have enjoyed very many small interesting things. One such interesting thing is this ice-cream machine!
It was a mela (fest) I saw from the car and stopped to have a sneak peek. It was really fun to see how the locals were enjoying the fest. There were many stalls selling local made art and craft. pickles, farsan, fruit/sugar cane juice and fast food. For now, I am sharing this incredible looking ice-cream machine.

The mechanism is simple ... the horizontal cylinder filled with ice is rotated continuously by one person while another guy poured thick sweetened milk over the outer surface of the cylinder. Because of the cool the milk thickens and sticks to the cylinder. Over that pulp of different fruits like sapota, pineapple, mango was smeared. When enough milk and fruit pulp is accumulated on the cylinder the ice-cream man scraped it into the bowls to serve! Well, I didn't get a taste but must be delicious!
