I love this picture. The clear water, one can even see the bottom. And those tiny floating leaves! Look at the shadow of the croc! But, with that muted green all around lacks a bit of color. Ask me again ... I love the picture :)
I took this picture at Everglades National Park, Florida

Cool shot of the croc! Are they rare to see in Florida? I knew they had alligators there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen!
DeleteNice shot Kusum. Is it a pond exclusively for croc??
ReplyDeleteThanks Anu. No, it is a pond in the national park premises where this one was resting. Nothing is exclusive, its the animals wish to be there or not, they freely roam around!
DeleteLooks like one happy croc!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leora!
DeleteWhat a great photo. I love all the little details all around.
ReplyDeleteThanks Betty! Yes, I too like those details in the photo.

ReplyDeleteA shiver just went down my spine. That's how good that picture is.
ReplyDeleteThis IS super clear water. Isn't that the croc's shadow down there?
Yes, its the shadow. Thanks Divya.
DeleteAwesome shot. The croc is trying to hide but the reflection gives him away.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteThanks Dheeraj!
DeleteHow harmless it looks in this serene environment, Kusum!
ReplyDeleteRahulji, it looks harmless in the picture. Though I shared the road with them they are very scary!
DeleteI love the silver sheen of the crocks back, and the texture... beautiful image!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura. Yeah, that silver shine isolates the reptile from its surroundings.
DeleteFUN! What a great shot, and great experience to see this guy (or lady gator.)
ReplyDeleteI've been posting on a past trip to Louisiana, which was a great trip - but one thing lacking for us was the gators.. While they're normally just about everywhere, they were dormant while we were there. So I've yet to see one in the wild, and live vicariously through photos like yours!
Thanks Amanda. Yeah, I have heard about the marshes of Luisiana, haven't happened to visit. I had planned but, one of the acquaintances badly ditched me then :) Winter is the best time to go gator viewing when the water level is low and it is cold.
DeleteA lovely picture - so silent and peaceful!
ReplyDeletewow..I didn't know there was such a thing as an American croc and went and looked it up.. Interesting.. Great photo Kusum.. a real dinosaur and top predator except man... Michelle
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle!
DeleteGreat photo, such clear water and I love the shadow of the critter on the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yogi!
DeleteThis is one place i don't want to play around.
ReplyDeleteI´m not a fan of crocks. But,sure, it is a great shot. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI can see how well the crocodile blends in with the water so that he is camouflaged!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, s/he is ... but, under the hot sun he must have been cooling him/herself off!
DeleteNice photo!
ReplyDeleteDid you take a swim??
Haha! Of course not! Thanks :)
