When we think about beautiful colorful skies always sunrises or sunsets come into mind. For a change I am posting a picture of a moonset on a full-moon night! One October night a couple of years ago I attended a photography meetup at Suthro Baths in San Fancisco. Suthro Baths are ruins of a large 19th century swimming pool which were abandoned almost several decades ago.
Reaching the place at 12:00am and getting questioned by a cop was something to remember! Keeping myself awake whole night until the moon thought of descending was another thing! Four other photographers who joined the meetup were moving around and shooting. At one point I thought- what a madness! That early morning when I was driving back home I was not happy about photo-shoot or those mosquito bites. But, today when I was cleaning up the hard disk I found this one interesting :)
Well, there is nothing much of the baths in the picture. It is rather the view of the ocean and of the moonset from the ruins. The manual focus in the dark added with the slower shutter speed in that shattering wind resulted in soft (moon-y) focus! The bone crushing waves turned into milky, soothing mist! Whatever, I hope you skywatchers enjoyed the picture :)
